Super Swing Golf PANGYA

The Wiire Recently has an interview with Ryan Arbogast (Tecmo’s Product Specialist) to talk about the Wii title, Super Swing Golf Pangya. This are some important points of the interview
It will be a multiplayer game, but not online. Within the game, there is a story mode that’s new to the console title. Through the mode, you can pick up unlockables, different characters, costumes and there’s a storyline behind it, so depending on how you play in the tournaments, your story will be different. There’s also for multiplayer, stroke play, match play and a special mode where you hit the ball and try to fly it through hoops.

I think people will stand up and play it. You could sit down and play, but it’s like Guitar Hero. It feels more comfortable and you feel like a part of the game when you’re standing up and interacting with it. So I think with the Wii title, you could do it sitting down, but if you want to experience the golf for what it is, stand up, grip the controller and have fun.

launch we’re looking at early 2007, we might be able to get it into Christmas 2006, hopefully for the Wii launch in general. So we’re keeping our fingers crossed, but they don’t want to sacrifice quality on this title, so if the game isn’t ready, they’re not going to launch it. So that’s why we’re not giving it a launch game projection, and saying Q1 [2007].”

Super Swing Golf PANGYA

Some SSGP details:

The Super Swing Golf PANGYA: The Nintendo Wiicontroller provides a new level of gaming interaction, sensing motion, depth, positioning and targeting dictated by the movement of the controller itself allowing the controller to act as the golf club. A back-swing sets the amount of power of the swing and the angle of controller when hitting the ball defines whether the ball will hook or slice.

Revolutionized Graphics: Improved character texture and molding and the newly designed costumes bring this title to life in this uniquely designed fantasy world.
Single Play Modes: Hit the lynx in Single Mode to play through Story Mode, Free Mode, or Challenge Mode. In Story Mode, the game proceeds along with the story of each character and will diverge according to the results of the match.

Multiplayer Modes: Try out Battle Mode to take on others in Match Play, Stroke Play, and Party Play.

Elebits Nintendo Wii

The Wiire’s managing editor, Rob Galbreath, sat down with Konami Group Manager Denins Lee to discuss the company’s first project for the Nintendo Wii, Elebits.

The Wii controller is used as an extension of your arm while you’re playing. While you’re playing the game you’re able to interact with anything in the environment. You’re able to push, pull, lift, throw anything, and you use the Wii controller to seamlessly do that.”

“The nunchuck is used as well for camera control and moving your character and the other half of the controller is basically what you’re using to grab and to pull things. “

“It is one player for sure, and the team is investigating ways of making it multiplayer, but nothing has been confirmed for that. “

Miyamoto unveiled the game everybody wondered about after Nintendo’s pre-E3 conference, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii.

It turns out last year Miyamoto spoke to the Masahiro Sakurai about creating another Smash Bros game. A new team was put together just for this game.

There are two parts to this announcement that should please Smash Bros fans. The first is that Sakurai insisted on this game not using the Wii controller, so the GameCube controller is yet again what players will use to battle each other with Nintendo characters.

Single player mode will have some changes, though Sakurai didn’t mention them. And there will be an online multiplayer mode.

But I guess I can’t just say “Nintendo characters” now. Nintendo has announced a new character from a third party developer. First, these are the new Nintendo game characters: Pit (from Kid Icarus), Samus in the Zero suit, Metaknight, and Wario. And Konami has graciously offered up its own character: Snake (from Metal Gear Solid for you hermit folks).

Sonic wild fire for Wii

Sega Has announced a new Sonic game for Wii, Sonic Wild Fire , this time Only Sonic will hit The Arabian Nights. Sonic The Hedgehog Rewrites the Arabian Nights in a Completely New Adventure Exclusive to the Wii Console.

Article:

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (May 9, 2006) - SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd. today announced Sonic Wild Fire (working title) exclusively for the Wii™. Developed by SEGA Studios, Sonic Wild Fire stars the Blue dude with the ‘tude on his first solo adventure since the original Sonic The Hedgehog™ in 1991. This intense and exciting action game takes advantage of the innovative Wii™ controller as Sonic combines his trademark high-speed action with easy to play controls to offer a brand new experience!

Sonic’s new adventure unfolds from a storybook of the classic tale, Arabian Nights, the last several pages from the book have gone missing, and it’s up to Sonic to re-create the story. The vibrant environments provide for a refreshingly new look to the franchise filled with brightly colored mosaic tiles, glistening oases, swaying palm trees, and crumbling stone columns. Sonic activates specific areas in the prismatic environment to pull off new tricks and stunts, in addition to interacting head-on with various obstacles by jumping, dodging, and dashing.

“Sonic Wild Fire and the innovative Wii controller changes the way gamers play interactive entertainment,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of SEGA of America, Inc. “SEGA is excited to lead the gameplay revolution through its support of Wii with a Sonic release built exclusively for this new system.”

Gamers will use the Wii controller to steer Sonic and experience an untapped freedom in gameplay and control. Hold the controller horizontally with two hands and tilt left and right to steer Sonic on different paths and maneuver deftly from obstacles and enemies. Continue to tilt and fling forward to dash-attack ground and air enemies and to break down barriers. In addition to the main game is an array of unique controller-focused mini-games which make Sonic Wild Fire fun to play alone or as a multiplayer game with friends. Get ready for a refreshing adventure that puts you on the forefront of gaming!”

One of the most anticipated features of Wii is its game download service, dubbed the “Virtual Console.” .

Using this Virtual Console service, users will have the ability to download and play many or all Nintendo-produced NES/Famicom, SNES/Super Famicom, and N64 games for a small fee.
More notably, some games may offer free retro downloads as a bonus for the purchase. Nintendo has also announced that games developed for the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16 consoles will be offered via the Virtual Console download service.

While the gameplay will be the same for all of the retro titles offered via the Virtual Console, Nintendo has stated that some of the games may be improved with sharper graphics or better framerates. In addition, gamers may be able to download games that were not originally released in their region, and some multiplayer games may be playable online, if it is technically possible. The Virtual Console service will not be used exclusively for retro games, however. Nintendo has stated that they are interested in using the service to distribute new, original content.

According to a Japanese press release, “all downloaded games will be stored on the 512 [MB] flash memory built into the system”. To prevent illegal copying, downloaded games will feature a proprietary DRM system

Wii Connectivity Specs

The Nintendo Wii will have built-in Wi-Fi , allowing games be played online via a wireless hotspot or router.Nintendo has also provided a device that may be able to connect the Wii Console online via a Windows XP computer, and a USB port, as well as a Broadband connection, rather than buying a Wifi router

Nintendo announced that the consoles will be able to connect to one another wirelessly for LAN applications. Along with this comes the ability to use “Download Play.” Currently featured in Nintendo’s DS , this allows for multiplayer network games to be played across multiple systems with only one copy of the game being played loaded into a participating system.

It has also been suggested that the Nintendo Wii will feature connectivity between the system and the Nintendo DS.
