Playable games, accessible developers, Gamecock suckers, and food and
drink will all be part of the festival.AUSTIN, Texas, June 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) — Gamecock Media Group continues its mission to champion original titles today with the announcement of the final details of its much anticipated E.I.E.I.O event. The “Expo for Interactive Entertainment, Independent and Original” is being held at Santa Monica’s Hotel California (1670 Ocean Ave), right smack in the middle of all the E3 hotels.
“EIEIO is going to be a celebration of the amazing lineup of independent developers that Gamecock has been lucky enough to sign on, and I’m thrilled to say that every one of them will be in attendance to give personal demos of their works in progress,” said Mike Wilson, Grand Champeen and CEO of Gamecock. “And, of course, there will be a truckload of that very special Texas hospitality that our friends have come to expect. While this year’s E3 ‘business summit’ might seem a bit strange and uptight, those who still harbor a true love for original games and the talented folks that create them should know that there’s plenty of room at the Hotel California. Such a lovely place…”
Gamecock’s artist-driven line-up crosses every platform and hits multiple genres. The showcase includes several previously announced games along with several new ones. Developers will be on hand to demo their creations and answer any questions. Among the featured titles are:
Fury (PC) from Auran; Insecticide (PC & Nintendo DS™) from Crackpot Entertainment; Dementium: The Ward (Nintendo DS) from Renegade Kid; Hail to the Chimp (Next-Gen Platforms) from Wideload Games; Mushroom Men (Nintendo DS & Wii™) from Red Fly Studio; Dungeon Hero (PC & Xbox 360) from Firefly Studios; and Two Major Unannounced Next-Gen Titles.
“We’ve hit the ground running with wildly creative games on all next-gen platforms and PCs,” said Harry Miller, President and Head of Development for Gamecock Media Group. “E.I.E.I.O. will be a great opportunity for the world to get their eyes on these products and see, first-hand, what these talented developers have in store.”

This is a video demostrating the game controls of the Nintendo Wii game The Godfather Wii
More About: The Godfather Wii
The WiiAction Input Library is intended to allow developers to explore the Nintendo Wii Remote as a controlling device using the PC. This could be useful for prototyping a game intended for Nintendo Wii, or simply to improve our understanding of the controller so that we will know how to exploit it when working for studios developing games for the Wii platform
Supported:
- All button presses
- Tilting (using internal “accelerometer”)
- RumbleYet to be supported:
- IR Triangulation (For the screen pointer)
- Sound
- Expansion ports (nunchuck etc)No plans to support fully:
- Mii Data. It’s there and accessible, but the idea of writing a Mii Editor to actually edit or display the Miis bores me. It is possible to get the Mii name though, and use that on scoreboards and suchlike.Technical Information:
The library is written in C++ using the Broadcom WIDCOMM DK. Demos compiled using this library require a WIDCOMM-compatible bluetooth dongle to support it. WiiAction is currently untested on other bluetooth stack formats.

This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii Game Trauma Center: Second Opinion by Nintendo World Report
Although the original Trauma Center is a fantastic game, I wouldn’t say it’s for everyone, due to the extreme difficulty. Second Opinion fixes that issue while providing options to make the game even harder for veteran players. It also provides a dozen or so new missions (or about 1/3 more content) and interesting, though not perfect, Wii controls that are fun for everyone to learn. If you’re tired of launch titles that feel like tech demos or mini-game collections, Trauma Center is just what the doctor ordered. (Sorry!)
