This is an excerpt from a Gamasutra interview with Christian Svensson, Sr. Director of Strategic Planning & Research for Capcom:
GS: Resident Evil seems very Wii-focused right now.
CS: It is in the near term. Resident Evil 4 has been very well received and has gotten good feedback from retail, in response to our pricing strategy [of $29.99 in North America].
GS: Some people said that it was under-served by being on the GameCube, in terms of the market that it could reach. Do you think that that’s going to finally be realized now?
CS: I think that anytime you can sell another copy to another new user, it expands the brand. A lot of people knock the decision to put it on GameCube, but at the same time, Resident Evil 4 was the number-one selling title for the GameCube in 2005, which is hard for a third-party. So it’s hard to say that that was really a bad decision. It’s gone on to sell very, very well on PS2.
On PC, when it gets released by Ubisoft a little later this month, I’m sure it will do well. It’s already out in Europe and Asia, and a new patch fixes a lot of the criticisms that people had. I’m glad that it’s coming at a time when it’s a bit more polished than it was initially for some of the other territory releases. And I think the Wii version is going to be the best version of the four.
GS: Do you know anything yet about downloadable original content on the Wii?
CS: We know a lot about that. There are some file size limitations that don’t dovetail well with what we’ve currently got on PS3 and Xbox 360. I would love to put the content that we have on the Wii, and I think it’s a great audience for the type of content, especially for Street Fighter and Puzzle Fighter. We’re still thinking about ways that we can get that content to them, perhaps not downloaded, but perhaps with a consolidated retail SKU. We’re still just tossing around ideas in our head.
GS: But downloadable original content is possible? It’s been hinted that it’s possible, but it’s still not coming yet.
CS: It’s possible. I think you’ll have to talk more to Nintendo about that. It’s not a technical limitation thing, though. We’re certainly going to be able to deliver. It’s really more of them getting their process in place for approvals and their pipeline in place.
I know they have loads of people who want to make content, but I think it’s a matter of some people turning on the spigot. We’ve been asked about bringing our stuff over. It’s going to happen. Once that spigot is opened and the floodgates are unleashed, I’m sure you’ll see loads of it.
This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii game Prince Of Persia: Rival Swords by Eurogamer
It’s also a two year old game and certainly looks it, with muddy last-gen graphics and some disturbing clipping in the cut-scenes as the Prince’s spaghetti hair cuts through his shoulders. Given its age, you can pick it up for next to nothing on the Gamecube or, better yet, buy it as part of a trilogy pack for PS2 or PC. While the Wii version is a good game and takes to its new control scheme well enough to justify the port, it’s just not sufficiently different to recommend a purchase, especially if you can source it elsewhere.

A Bit More Info On Harry Potter Wii Controls:
We’ve created a brand-new, gesture-based magic system, which has really changed and enhanced the experience of casting magic. Instead of pressing buttons to fire off specific spells, we use each console’s unique controls. So if you want to use “depulso” to push an object away from you, you press the right analog stick forward on the 360 and PS2, you push the Sixaxis controller away from you on the PS3, and, of course, you flick your “wand” away from you on the Wii. To ignite an object, you rapidly push the right analog back and forward, or slide the Sixaxis or Wii Remote from side to side as though you were lighting a match. In combat we use similar gestures for attacking and defensive spells, but also ensure they represent the action—to cast a knockback jinx you tap up on the analog stick, or shove them backward with the Sixaxis or Wii Remote. And each spell you find is upgraded as you discover secrets in the world.

There is a story line that pushes the gameplay, but the game also allows for exploration and some good old-fashion peddle-to-the-metal driving. When finished racing through the streets, transform into robot form and interact with just about anything around, whether it be a car, bus, or building. The game offers players freedom of choice on a massive scale.
With 9 playable characters gamers will experience the power of the all-spark in true next-gen style. The console game is set to release this summer on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and PC. The game teleports the well-loved characters from Hasbro’s property into an epic battle and will have gamers glued to their televisions and monitors.

Version shown: Wii.
Other platforms: Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, DS and PSP, but not PlayStation 3.
Release date: October. It might sell by the bucket-load to the kiddywinks, but in critical terms, Crash games have been struggling to make an impression ever since Naughty Dog moved on to making Jak games. But Vivendi and Radical Entertainment are desperate to “really ratchet up his popularity” and make amends with this year’s effort, Crash of the Titans - a “Crash for gamers”, we’re assured. The “hook” of the game, if you will, is jacking your enemy and utilising their move-set and various weapons and abilities to dispatch increasingly challenging foes however you choose. Similar in some senses to Kameo, the rock-paper-scissors combat essentially gives you the tools and lets you get on with deciding how best to ’solve’ each area. In other words, you have multiple playable weapons at your disposal, but each begins life as an in-game enemy at some point or other.

Obscure 2 Wii Announced:
Obscure II is the sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Obscure. Two years ago, at Leafmore High, a group of young teenagers were trapped inside their school and hunted by monsters that had been released by the maniac headmaster. Some of them survived that terrible night, while others perished. Now, the survivors have picked up their lives and joined college. But all is not right on Fallcreek University; strange black flowers have suddenly sprung up everywhere on the campus. While experimenting with these flowers in class, a dangerous substance is discovered that induces strange but vivid dreams. But a handful of students find out that there is more to the flowers than anyone could have expected; when the seeds finally germinate, a bad trip suddenly turns into a horrible reality…
