The company and its associates have focused on the use of the different capabilities of Wii in hopes of initiating this discipline, like the series “Guitar Hero” for rock’n'roll. In addition, they said, this kind of exercise would gymnastic qualities, beneficial to the general public.

Peekaboo Pole Dancing Wii Game

In response to recent speculation, we are pleased to confirm that Peekaboo is in talks to develop a game for the Nintendo Wii that meets mainstream demand for the fun and fitness benefits of pole dancing.

With pole dancing classes springing up in gyms and health clubs across Europe and the USA, the number of women seeking the body-sculpting and fat-burning effects of this aerobic form of exercise has never been greater.

While the Peekaboo Wii game is still in the developmental stage, it can be confirmed that it will not involve Carmen Electra, the inspiration behind our recent Electra-Pole Professional Pole Kit.

Peekaboo and its partners are focussed on using Wii friendly hardware to make aerobic pole dancing instantly accessible just as Guitar Hero did for rock’n’roll.

Men and women of all shapes and sizes will be encouraged to work on improving their skills, with the firm focus on fun and fitness as per the core brand values of Nintendo Wii.

THQ Announces Plans for Global Release of Disney*Pixar’s Ratatouille Across All Major Gaming Systems in Summer 2007

Gamers With an Appetite for Adventure Can Explore the World of Ratatouille Beginning Summer 2007

AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — THQ Inc. (Nasdaq: THQI) today announced plans to bring Ratatouille, based on the summer 2007 film from Disney*Pixar, to gamers of all ages around the world. The game is in development across 11 systems, including Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Nintendo’s Wii™ video game console, Nintendo GameCube™, Game Boy® Advance, Nintendo DS™, Windows PC and Mac, as well as wireless devices. Ratatouille will mark the most comprehensive simultaneous cross-platform launch in THQ’s history and is scheduled to coincide with the worldwide release of the highly anticipated film.

“Disney*Pixar films have consistently captivated audiences of all ages with their imaginative and memorable characters, visually stunning animation, and unparalleled story-telling,” said Kelly Flock, executive vice president of worldwide publishing, THQ. “THQ has shipped more than 25 million units of Disney*Pixar video games to date, illustrating the success of our long-standing relationship and dedication to the Disney*Pixar business.”

About the Ratatouille Video Game

In the game, players will assume the role of Remy, a young rat whose love for great food puts him at odds with the needs of his family. Fans will be able to relive some of the film’s most thrilling moments and experience the sights, sounds and most importantly, the smells, of Paris a la Remy across a multitude of gaming systems. Players will instantly recognize the storyline, characters and key locations of Ratatouille, as they engage in a series of unique mini-games, cooking challenges and head-to-head multiplayer. Ratatouille will allow players to create culinary masterpieces, evade detection from dangerous and often hungry enemies, and brave the perils of the dinner-rush in this senses-shattering journey to fulfill Remy’s life-long dream of becoming a great chef.

THQ’s Heavy Iron Studios is leading development for Ratatouille across THQ’s Studio System. In addition, THQ Wireless is developing a suite of wireless content including games, wallpapers and ring-tones based on Ratatouille.

About the Ratatouille Movie

In Disney*Pixar’s upcoming animated-adventure, Ratatouille, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely — and certainly unwanted — visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy’s passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

Remy finds himself torn between his calling and passion in life or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.

Nintendo Wifi connection

IGN have learned from various development studios that Nintendo refuse to release Wi-Fi connection libraries for the Wii until early 2007. This means that no third party launch title will have online features, unless they have been provided with the online kit

IGN got an interview with Redsteel Artistic director, Stephane Bachelet, about improving Red Steel’s visuals. Below are some interesting points and 10 new Redsteel Wii New Images

We had a clear idea of what we wanted to do. But the challenge was, how could we do it? The console was in development, so we worked on Nintendo GameCube kits and PC and made projections based on the technical specs we started receiving.

The Wii kits actually arrived one month prior E3. The E3 demo had to be delivered so quick that we could not take time to implement the whole graphic chart we developed. So, the E3 version’s graphics was a work in progress, just to be show-able, but not finished. We wanted to take time to see people play for the first time with our game, help them to handle the Wii remote and finally, let the door open to all useful changes that would be necessary for the gameplay.

Do you feel limited vs. the power of the console?

The relative power of the console set a limit, in fact. That is why we started working on a stylish realistic rendering rather than on a pure photorealism treatment, with shaders and other heavy effects. The idea is to provide eye-catching scenes that are really cool and emphasize the action of the game, rather than places that highlight impressive effect, which you do not pay any attention to in the middle of the action anyway.

Nintendo had a little Q&A at the company’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing yesterday.

One of the things mentioned was the Nintendo Wii development kit for third party developers.

Nintendo said that they plan to get many more third party developers on board than they did with the GameCube, and they’ll do that by offering (very) low prices.

Nintendo hopes to provide third-parties with development kits for as low as $1,732.

But who needs good graphics when you the playability of the Nintnedo Wii , nothing can beat it.

According an article on Mozlapunk site, they recently spoken to a “reliable source” who claims that Nintendo’s Wii console will be capable of displaying graphics that “will be visually on par with the Xbox 360 and may even exceed it slightly.

The gamers’ favourite IGN reported a while back ago that it had spoken to some third party developers who were working on the Nintendo Wii system and was told that the hardware that they were currently working on wasn’t going to prove any competition to either Microsoft’s Xbox 360, or Sony’s PlayStation 3 in the graphical department.

Mozla’s source is announcing that the developer kits that IGN based its theories on weren’t actually final development kits, and that the only developers who owned these kits are either second party developers or Nintendo themselves.

The only third party company that Mozlapunk is aware of who have a final development kit is Square Enix, who are the developers behind Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and the hugely popular Dragon Quest series, both of which are Wii bound.
