A new Rumor states that there is an exclusive Medal of Honor title in the development for the Nintendo Wii.
Medal of Honor: Airborn was scheduled to be on the Wii a few months back, but now all has gone quiet. As far as we know there are no plans to bring that game to the Wii. It would make sense that this game was scrapped for an exclusive MoH on Wii. This rumor is said to come from Patrick Gilmore, a producer at EA. Hopefully this rumor comes true…MoH: Vanguard left a very sour taste in our mouths.

Disappointing to the extreme. The presentation is pretty slick, but the implementation is very slack. A rush-job that makes poor use of the Wii hardware for the most part and when it does do things right it doesn’t do them often enough. EA have done some great things on the Wii, but this is not one of them. Another one to consign to the cash-cow cupboard…

By dragging us all back in time, this game does a disservice to both the Wii and the Medal of Honor franchise. For one, Nintendo’s vision of the future involves everyday people casually playing around the TV; for the other, the visual arms race knows no limit with ever more competitors entering the WWII fray. Vanguard sorely misses on both counts.

Perhaps the best feeling feature of using the Wii controls is the way you launch grenades. You simply switch (via the D-pad) to your grenades, hold down the B trigger, target the grenade’s destination by pointing the Wii Remote, pull back your arm and then make a throwing motion, releasing the B trigger at the right moment to send the grenade flying. On paper the steps may seem longwinded, but in execution everything flows together quickly and easily.

EA sure is trying its darndest to get us all fired up about Medal of Honor: Airborne, and with good reason. Parachutes have routinely proved themselves to be the most fun ever when they appear in games, and the idea of them being the focus of one gets us giddy. We can’t wait to be part of one of those dramatic WW2 airdrops that movies love recreating, dropping through a sky heavy with planes and flak fire and bright with searchlights and tracer rounds. And the chance to choose exactly where you land in a freeform level that dynamically adapts to your location and plays different every time? Just superb. And then you’ve got the whole thing topped off with the ability to customize your weapons, just like real GIs did. So that’s all well and good for the gamers who’ve fork(lift)ed over the cash for a PS3 or 360 or have a top-notch PC, but what about everybody else?
