This is an excerpt from the Preview and some new images of the Nintendo Wii game Dewey’s Adventure by

Actually, in a vague, indefinable way, Dewy is somehow reminiscent of PS1 classic Klonoa. Maybe it’s the music, which seems hyperactively sugary in places but demonstrates unexpected sophistication and subtlety in others. Or perhaps it’s the fact that the game gives you all your controller functions and powers right from the start and then spends the rest of the game putting them to use in new and interesting ways. Whatever the case, it’s not an unwelcome association, and it gives us hope that this cutesy but creative adventure will turn out to be just as memorable. It’s already looking pleasantly polished — far more so than its big brother Elebits was — so Wii owners holding out for something truly original can look forward to Dewy’s fall release date with confidence.

This is an excerpt of the Nintendo wii game Dewy’s Adventure Wii Preview by 1up

If you played last year’s charming PSP adventure LocoRoco and thought to yourself, “This tilt-oriented game design would have been perfect on Wii,” take heart — you’re not alone. Konami’s Shingo Mukaitoge, fresh from his work on Elebits, clearly had the same idea.

Dewy Adventure for Nintendo Wii Press Release:

Dewy’s Adventure - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Dewy’s Adventure (working title), an original action title exclusively for the Wii™ from the producer that created the critically acclaimed Elebits. Dewy’s Adventure lets players use the Wii Remote™ to control the elements and manipulate the terrain of the game world as they help a small droplet of water save its home world from a mysterious dark force.

Dewy’s Adventure introduces players to a world where pure green forests flourished under the careful watch of the towering Elder Tree. However, a mysterious dark force known as the evil Don Hedron has taken hold of the Elder Tree and transformed the land into a gloomy world shrouded in shadows and fog. Using the last of its remaining power, the Elder Tree created a small droplet of water named Dewy and granted him the power of the elements with hope that he could overcome the evil Don Hedron and restore tranquility to the land.

Taking advantage of the unique Wii Remote, Dewy’s Adventure grants players full control over the game world and the elements as they take control of Dewy and seek to overcome the evil Don Hedron. Players can tilt the Wii Remote to create inclines in the landscape, moving the droplet to precisely the right spot while rotating the environment to solve puzzles. Most often found as a small ball of water, Dewy can alter the temperature of his immediate area to transform into ice and mist. These transformations are useful in freezing or heating different parts of the world to solve puzzles and also to defeat the game’s fearsome enemies.

Players can also take control of the elements by using motion-specific gestures with the Wii Remote, such as shaking it to cause an earthquake, waving it to create gusts of wind or summoning blots of lightning while in mist form. Combined with Dewy’s three different forms and landscape tilting abilities, these skills provide players with extensive control over the environment and a great degree of freedom in approaching each of the game’s six stages.

In addition to a single player story mode, Dewy’s Adventure also features an edit mode that allows for full customization of complete stages with unique puzzles, different types of landscape and a wide variety of enemies. These stages can be played alone or enjoyed cooperatively with a friend.

“Dewy’s Adventure emphasizes Konami’s commitment to creating innovative software for the Wii with one of a kind gameplay, unique motion sensitive controls, and a colorful game world packed with memorable characters,” said Wilson Cheng, Product Manager with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “Building upon the success of Elebits, Dewy’s Adventure is poised to deliver another exciting and accessible gaming experience that is only possible through the immersive Wii hardware.”

This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii Game Elebits by Washington Post

Elebits, from Konami, is designed exclusively for Nintendo’s Wii and its motion-sensor controllers. It’s one in a growing library of Wii games that look cute and simple but offer a lot of depth and challenges.

This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii Game Elebits by NWR

Even though a “multiplayer” mode can be unlocked by beating the game, players must use the same controller. In one of the multiplayer games, one player uses the Wii Remote, while the other uses the Nunchuk to jump over potholes and hurdles in unison.

Using the same controller (or controller set) to play with friends increases the insanity of Smooth Moves’ multiplayer games, but passing around the controller gets old fast and the game would have been that much better if it supported multiple controllers. Plus, this really isn’t a multiplayer mode–you can take turns using a controller with any video game. Another small snag in the game is that it can be completed in about an hour if you really zip through it, but the replay value more than makes up for this minor booboo.

All in all, WarioWare: Smooth Moves is a certifiably insane party game that is a must buy for any Wii owner and just further proves that the Wii is the must-have console for when you have friends over.

This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii Game Elebits by NWR

Elebits is a launch title that’s a bit more ambitious than it should have been. The game is easy to pick up, but as the levels continue it becomes clear that the frustrations are not going to be eased, and the various modes are just repeating something you’ve already played. Many people will likely be able to dive into the game and glean some enjoyment from it, so to the curious, I recommend playing before buying. There probably won’t ever be a Katamari killer, but there may be room on the Wii for a quirky shooter with more traditional gameplay. Elebits is not that game, but it gets really close.
