At a management direction meeting held today, Nintendo unveiled some new information about the DS and Wii.

A new game, Pokémon Battle Revolution, will be available for Wii and is
releasing a few months after Pokémon Diamond/Pearl and the two games will interact much like prior Pokémon games linked up with Pokémon Stadium.

These translations are based off of Sakurai’s responses to fan email about the upcoming Nintendo Wii Game Super Smash Bros Brawl.

The smash Snake will not use his knife or his guns . Instead, weapons like his grenade and rocket launcher are being worked on, and it is planned that he will use them.

Sakurai reasons that while in Japan, using a survival knife and using a sword are very similar, it is not the same in other parts of the world.

In order to allow more people to play this game [Avoid getting a Teen rating] they will balance it for all countries.

In a recent Interview with Katsuya Eguchi of Nintendo Japan was revealed this:

“Another application might be someone could send a letter from their cellphone or from an email address on a PC to the Wii, and then the player living in the town in Animal Crossing could receive that letter. Who needs Live Anywhere, when Wii looks like it will be doing all that and let you catch butterflies at the same time. ”

Opera have confirmed their web-browser for the Nintendo Wii will come pre-loaded onto the system’s Flash memory!

Wii web-browser developers Opera have revealed the software will be saved onto the console’s Flash ROM, not needing to be saved on a separate card as the DS version is. This also means it can be launched in just a few seconds.

The company have stated that navigation should be “easier than using Opera on a desktop”.

The browser will integrate its ‘unique rendering technologies’ to compensate for the lower resolution of TVs and the added distance of the user from the TV screen- expect the interface to be simplified and fonts enlargened.

The browser will be able to surf the full net and execute applications using technologies such as AJAX as well. While the software will support the same web standards as desktop versions of the browser and include Javascript, the company declined to comment if plug-ins such as Flash will be supported.
