Wii plays backed up games with out modchip?

The user starts playing a real copy of the Zelda: Twilight Princess, but doesn’t have the nunchuck plugged when the game is booting up. Before plugging in the nunchuck the user switches the disc with a backed up game, then plugs in the nunchuck, and the game plays well with the Backed Up game

Not that it matters but… DUH… that totally defies the point. Or am I missing something?

wow talk about pointless ideas… apparently you need the original game disc to make the backup one work… so………. obviously my question is… why would someone bother to make a backup disc then? it’s a waste of a perfectly usable blank dvd…

Omfg, you even consider doing that? It’s one thing for a console with sucky online play like the PS2 but for a online-based console like Wii not being able to go online SUCKS!! Cause you know that you can’t play online with backup games and usually the chip ruins the console, right?

The idea is if the real thing is broken you can put it in and trick the Wii into beginning to read the media off the disc, then switch it with a working back-up. You can do it on the SEGA Saturn too.

Don’t waste time on that kind of shiety videos… This one guy @ my work place think he can trust the website talking about downloading a program to SD card and stick in his wii then he’ll be able to boot games from SD card; he actually brick his wii. He did gone himself a warranty so he’s luck, but won’t do that again…
