Wii MMORPG ?

Nintendo has announced that it has formed a development partnership with Korean studio Nexon for a forthcoming but as yet unspecified Wii title.

According to Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata in a recent statement made to the Korean press “We plan to actively support Korean game software developers who have great expertise in developing online games and support their advances into foreign markets…”

Iwata-san also went on to talk about the impending Korean Wii and DS Lite launches, but the big news, at least as far as we’re concerned, is the mention of online expertise and that bit about ‘advances into foreign markets’. And let’s not overlook the fact that Nexon is the outfit responsible for the online racer Crazyracing Kartrider (no, us neither) and the 2D cutesy-pie but insanely popular MMORPG Maple Story – a game that’s been sapping the spare time and bank accounts of our Far Eastern gaming cousins since 2002.

YES!!!!!!!!!!! About flipping time we got news on online gaming! I always wanted to play a legitimate MMO game, not one of those free ones on pc that get old quick… And a game like this on Wii? Oh, thinking of the possibility makes me tingle inside lol.

umm wushu, nexon puts out maple story and guess what???
its a free mmo on the pc. but its an awesome game and its hard to split my time between lvling and chatting on maple story and playing Wii. (i was going to type…playing with my Wii but how would that sound?) anyway maple story rocks, Wii rocks and maple story on Wii would be freakin awesome.

by the way, Wii would need a keyboard for this as it is chat intensive and a major part of it.

Maple story is cool though. Look it up… really crazy 2d rpg or MMORPG… it’s the best istnat messenger out…LOL

Maplestory was good fun so lets just hope this game will be as well!

A little forum necromancy here…. But if they enable a headset, you can just talk instead of type. Think: “The World”.

More necromancy indeed. from another fan. talk chatting would be good yet bad, too many ppl around you. talk chat should be in parties, whispers, buddy chat and maybe guilds. They should make a special maplestory keyboard controller thing (plug in back of Wii) with a long cord. Also something to update it with, and events too. It’ll be great if it comes loaded with all quests nessecary, and if u can log in with ur char on ur comp. idk its prolly gonna be different, just sayin some stuff here. ooh, it should have Wii speak modifications.

A Wii speak mic headset with the modifications, of course. And the adjustments I explained earlier.
