Sony Talks High Velocity Bowling/Wii Sports Bowlin:
It’s a pretty common misconception that High Velocity Bowling is Sony’s “answer” to Wii Sports Bowling. We came up with the idea of using the SIXAXIS controller for bowling on August 23rd, 2006 - I know the exact date because it was my birthday…Eddy Cramm (who is a Sr. Designer on MLB ‘07) and I had taken the day off to get a couple rounds of golf in, a rare luxury these days. Out on the course, we talked about using the controller as a bowling interface (we both carry 200+ averages in our current bowling league) and both loved the idea. He sent a text message to our studio director that night and my team (small, but dedicated) started work on it the next day. While we weren’t surprised by the inclusion of bowling in Wii Sports a month later, we knew that we were taking it a step further once that game launched.
More About: High Velocity Bowling, Wii Sports
talk about making EXCUSES oh oh oh i remember cuzz it was my birthday
sounds like a sony fanboy aged 12 trying to defend ps2s loadtimes and bugginess to a nintendo fan in a school playground
its blatantly copying wii so stop talking bollox
and bowling with sixaxis is MORONIC crappy sencers and wrong shape
and people call me a fag
Very strange… I distinctly remember a bowling game concept revealed right after NINTENDO changed the name from Revolution to Wii in June of 06. Now granted, it wasn’t the full Wii bowling that we know today, but it did express the use of the controller. If I remember anything from school I am almost certain that June falls before August chronologically.
I honestly do not care that Sony is making a bowling game that uses their SIXAXIS controller, but it does bother me that they can’t admit to Wii bowling being a huge inspiration for their game.
I just wish Sony would steal some balls and admit to their faults.
