In a recent article at forbest, SEGA Vice President of Marketing Scott Steinberg predicted that the Nintendo Wii consoled will be selling under $200
“Most of the game industry still expects Nintendo to offer a machine priced much lower than either the Xbox 360, which starts at $299, and the PS3, which Sony says will cost $499 for a basic machine.

Bet on the Wii will selling for less than $200, says Scott Steinberg, vice president of marketing for Sega (other-otc: SEGNF.PK - news - people ), one of the major game publishers for Nintendo consoles. Prices for both the Microsoft and Sony machines are higher due to their heavy-duty processing power, and the PS3 will also feature Sony’s next generation Blu-Ray DVD drive.”

I’m really excited about this. Being a college student I don’t have a lot of scratch so I can’t easily afford the (required) $400 XBOX 360, and Sony is out of the equation. I just think with Nintendo’s innovation and daring approach with their control scheme and concentration on gameplay instead of mind-blowing graphics this could be the best bet even if the price tags were the same. Since they’re not it’s a no-brainer, go Wii.

i cant wait to get the new wii.although the graphics not all that but i think that the wii is the best for gameplay. I am espeacially waitin for Zelda twilight princess.

I was debating on whether I would get the Wii first, or the PS3. After doing a little bit of research and seeing the suspected price difference, the mind-blowing graphics of the PS3 are not worth the $300-400 + GST. Especially since I’m a huge Nintendo fan.

I love this, Wii is better than PS3!
