In the offician Nintendo Uk Magazine affirms that the Mario Kart Wii support up to 16 players online.

Yeah about up to 16 players is true.Well if you check on e3 in that video of mario kart that Reggie show us they were more than 8 players and also he says more players means more fun.Thank You!

Hello readers of nwiizone.com! This is Drew Bergmark of Halo3-Tourney.com to inform you of the correct answer. It is not 16 players, it is not 8, but it is 12 player multiplayer. I have been doing research for this game for months since I first saw the real box art. My sources point me to believe it is only 12, and anyways if its 12 with no servers, have fun lagging ur way to the finish line Nintendo fan boys.
