Wii Zapper Video Presentation

light gun fow wii

252_lightgun.jpg

Nintendo will be showing a gun peripheral for the Nintendo Wii in conjunction with the “new generation” Duck Hunt sequel. Allegedly, the device will work along with the Wii-mote to create the classic feel of the original NES classic, although there is still a chance of an entire “stand-alone” unit.

I would have thought that the Wii-mote would have been enough. Wasn’t a light gun type feature (the “pointer” ability) one of the bragged about features of the Wii-mote?

I thought that Sony’s system would have a chance with their MGS. After all the XCP and Blu-Rry copy-protection stuff, the removal of vibration (LMAO) and its relatively bank-breaking price, it’s not even a competitor.

The very fact Nintendo has even mentioned Duck Hunt again has just sealed Sony’s dead gaming fate (though I still want to see the new MGS).

would someone who is at E3 please just put on some kind of web-cam glasses or something so I can spy E3 from here? I cannot imagine all the cool stuff that must be going on out there!

[…] In case you’re wondering why, that shiny-light-gun-looking object on the right there is exactly that. And that happy go lucky gun will be used in an upcoming ‘new generation’ Duck Hunt sequel. Yes, Duck Hunt. Yes, sequel. Yes, we will own it. […]

Hey, don’t forget that you’ll be able to play the original Duck Hunt on Wii with the virtual console and this sweet looking light gun!

In fear of nasty hate mail and death threats, I will say that Duck Hunt was awesome and will be awesome for the Wii. That said, I do agree with Keith. Nintendo would absoloutly ABLITERATE the competition if they wised up and released classic arcade light gun FPS’s like Area 51 and Silent Scope. God forbid they release a Time Crisis game!!! Wii is obviously perfect for it. To the folks at Nintendo- If you listen to one suggestion I have made on any of these forums, listen to this one! It seems like such a no brainer! I have so many friends that say they will not get the Wii unless it has a Time Crisis game. Isn’t Namco already a heavy provider of Nintendo games?

Nintendo has said that it goes to the internet community often in search of ideas and options…so I’m sure they do.

Time Crisis or no Time Crisis, Nintendo is doing a great job this Gen. SSBM looks promising (even without sonic), and Duck Hunt is another obligatory (sp?). Nintendo has the upper hand this time around with possibly comparable graphics with “360″, a ground breaking price, and the ability to redifine FPS’s as we know them. I just hope Nintendo takes advantage of this.

Wow.. This is going to be an awesome system, even with this sick-looking gun. And I agree with whoever said this already, but it’s true, the Wii remote should have just been the gun itself, there isn’t much need for a seperate controller to do the work. Also, one of my preferable games with the light gun is House of the Dead.. I don’t know why, but killing zombies seems to phaze me over time. A fifth one would be cool. Anyway, good job Nintendo. *Peace*

Light gun, huh? Pretty sweet. Time Crisis was one of the first video games I ever played, and bringing into the home would be amazing. I still have to say I prefer the Xbox 360, but the Wii is a close second. As long as Nintendo or Microsoft takes first in the ‘console war’ and leaves Sony in the dust, I’m happy, and exciting steps like this are just the beginning of that race. With any luck we’ll see Time Crisis at least online within the year.

The remote doesn’t feel very menacing to shoot with. I can’t wait for a gun attachment. But I hope they make it look better, more like the mockups relased earlier on some sites with the shotgun thing. That would be awesome.

Nintendo I’m a big fan of the gun. Ever since Duck Hunt and that infamous game Gumshoe.Countless hours shooting that little
detective’s legs off.But yeah Time Crisis needs to make the list
I agree with everbody. Not to be greedy, but what about a foot pedal just like n the arcade. Thad be da shit man. *peace*
