“Look at what you saw today connecting up the world to the Windows PC. Do you expect Nintendo to rev up a team to create cross-device gaming and tool kits to develop those things? Not very likely.”

But according to the MS boss Nintendo “clearly did some things right” in the past, such as teaming up with UK-based developer Rare. “In my household, everybody plays Viva Piñata,” he confessed.

Well he’s mostly right. And I hate Microsoft / Bill Gates. The graphics are well below the other consoles (and this WILL become much more apparent in the next year or two) and Nintendo will most likely mess up online play, they’ve already shown they don’t know what they’re doing in regards to it.

And the sad thing is…hes kinda right. As of right now, if you wanna play online, get an Xbox.
I know someones gonna bash me for saying that, but as of now, what game outside of japan has online functionality for multiplayer.

Sad to say this, but Bill is right. Nintendo really messed up with making the Wii so weak graphically. I pretty much thought the Wii would be capable of 360 like graphics just at 480p, however more and more developers are saying that it just can’t handle next gen gaming. As of right now the Wii’s friends code system is set up to be a disaster, as you have to find people to play with rather than just finding a server to join. Unless Nintendo makes some bold online plan changes soon. 360 will probably be this gens winner. I love the idea behind the Wii, but I think it’s going to be a short lived system, Nintendo just put too much riding on the Wii-remote

Yep… Xbox 360 is becoming more promising everyday, becuase of everyone else dropping the ball. I hyped the Wii to my friends forever, now I feel bad about it. It just doesn’t have the title. For now I am sticking with my DS and waiting for Armored Core 4 to come out on Xbox… then I’m totally snag a 360

Bill is stating facts, but omitting the fact that the Wii will probably out sell the 360 and let’s all remember, Nintendo is about fun. If I want to do serious gaming, I will pass up the 360 and grab a keyboard and mouse and frag the snot out of a Halo fanboy with his analog stick. PC has been using HD resolutions before the XBox was even conceived. And with Gamespy and Ventrilo, I think you have XBox live beat hands down…..Sorry Billy.

Wow The Wii is inferior to a 6800 nvidia card… really? Metroid hunter’s online sucks really? Friend codes can’t be fixed really? All nintendo has to do is make a firends channel. Then get players to log on using wii points that are tied to a visa card so you can get the pedifiles name( one cent will be charged to the card). Then set up leader baords for all these VC game and set up spectator rooms for people playing VC games with online enabled… Then you could get some nice bomber man matches going and some crazy Old SB1 skillz displayed! I remember back in the day we would all gather around to beat the more difficult games together.

Back on topic though… Nintendo hasn’t proved it yet but the GPU is spec’d to rubble with the big boys it seems. Soooo let me get this str8…

OK OK my PC video card can show normal maps in the view port of a 3d modeling app in real time yet the Wii isn’t capable of doing it? Normal maps are simply a bump map design around the idea of narmal shadow casting. The wii is not capable of this? Really? I mean the program that nintendo and other companies are making games with can show normal maps in real time in the view port!

P2501 your right the Wii doesn’t have the titles yet. Normal maps are the new mode 7 nintendo. Every day I make 1000 poygons look like 400,000 and I just got to ask nintendo can your box do normal maps? It should be whats the deal? If metroid three doesn’t have it then you got to wonder whats going on nintendo?

Yeah some great games are coming out this year but I’m terribly addict to new shader tech and nintendo needs to give me a reason to stop playing quake qnd UT on the PC online.

Bill is calling nintendo out on this one. It’s classic MS though. The only problem is the graphic may be on the way. I’ll have to post some graphics for you guys one day but the models in wii games can easily be made up to look like gears of war. The only problem would be textureing resolution but with out knowing the compression rate then who knows… the GC compression rate was simply retard though in a good way!

So Bill is setting him self up for some bad news when nintendo shows off the graphic wares… yet if they don’t they still have a chance at getting better games due to Ps2 code being so easy to port over to it…LOL Hell I almost think the PS2 is part of the VC list…LOL

Can some one plaes make a Wii GPU cruching engine? With some normal mapping and other shader tricks with a stupid high frame rate?

WOW actualy the winter is going to be a cold month for all systems… I hope you still have a PS2 as God of war 2 is the only game worth getting excited about.

Pathetic Bill, just pathetic. When will you learn that… NINTENDO DOESN’T CARE!!!!! They only call Sony their competitors and threw every memory of Microsoft out with the rest of the trash! Grow up Bill! And what’s with the whole “my online service is better” garbage? Don’t be daft! Metroid Prime Hunters showed what the DS can do… and it was quite a nice little service they had going on there… being able to play with random people and all. And honestly, Nintendo was just testing the capability of their service. Come this spring… things will change. But why don’t you guys at MS leave your childhood in the past and mature a little eh? Like I said… to Nintendo… you are merely a company that has nothing to do with their vision and approach. In other words, to them… you’re irrelevant. Grow up.

It’s also funny how the Wii’s been ridiculously successful since day one, and no matter what Bill says… it doesn’t change a thing, lololol

Actually, Viva Pinata’ is quite an addictive game ….Sure bill is the new guy in video game consols but he has made some strong points up there. Wii needs a friends system, and it needs to pull some online games in here quick before it looses sales. Yet, I’m very glad that Nintendo is so successful with its wii…I myself am getting kinda tired of single player games :S

Oh Bill, please, shut up…I love the 360 and Microsoft but if you continue to say things like this…we got some problems.

The Wii’s steam may run out. Say what you want but the game offerings are pretty damn weak. The graphics aren’t any better than my Gamecube. The controller has not been implemented properly by game designers and feels tacked on. The online service is way behind where it should be.

I want to love you Wii, but you’re making so very difficult. Well back to my DS where there are some good titles while I save up for a 360 and wiat for the Wii to be boxed with a different game.

P2501, the 360 is gay, period. If you buy it you might as well be blowing Bill himself. I own a Wii, but would rather game on a PC any day. PC will always dust all consoles. The Wii has better games at launch than 360 or PS3. The graphics are improved from the Gamecube, check out Zelda and MP3. The controller is tacked on? Have you played Zelda, Tony Hawk, Trauma Center, ect….? You are right about the online service, but I think we will see more to come. It is only $249 what more do you want!!!???

Loook at the DS…when it first came out it started with a port…….and notsogood games….but soon came out…with……Im seeign apattern here….

Hey come on everyone knows that Nintendo´s been innovating in all aspects; Nintendo first introduced the control stick in 64 and the touch screen in the DS. constantly they are trying to give us new ways to have fun I really think that the best of the Wii has not come yet, but when it does there will be no doubts of who is the best. Honestly which is better? have fun with friends that you know or start an online fight whit people you don´t know? probably you always get angry when someone beats you at Wi-fi… isn´t it true? just remember “playing is believing”.
