Aonuma confirms Sheik, Ganondorf for Smash Bros. Brawl

An excerpt from a Game Informer interview with Eiji Aonuma:

GI: Have you been consulted at all for the usage of Link or Sheik or Ganondorf for Smash Bros. Brawl?

Aonuma: I’ve been working with Sakurai for a very long time with this new Smash Bros., because the Wii came out and when discussion for a new Smash Bros. took place nobody could think of anyone other than Sakurai working on it. He was kind of the default, and I was very happy to hear that he would be working on it. Actually, my designers did work on the designs for Sheik and Link and Ganondorf. So they submitted the initial designs, and so it would fit in the Smash Bros. Brawl environment, they’ve had to tweak some of the designs. But Sakurai has brought those altered designs to NCL. We’re working very closely with the team of Smash Bros. Brawl to make sure the characters look their best.

Sheik in SSBB? Seems a bit weird if Zelda is based on the TP Zelda.

What do you mean wierd Sheik is an awesome character and i was verdissapointed to come to realize that she might not be in Brawl, She is a good character who can stand alone. Mybe we’ll see somethinglike the old versions and the new one’s being selectable?

Hi, I think Aonuma’s plan is cool and Me and my sister really wants Midna, and Zant on the game!!

Aonuma’s plan is cool too!! because on Super Smash Bros Melee Zelda turns into Sheik, so that will be a good idea! Oh and gannondorf too, that be cool if Gannon turns into Gannon on the new smash bros game, like Zelda turns into Sheik!

I dont have a Wii yet, but Im waiting untill its my birthday, my birthday is at March 8 and I was born in 1992!

yeah, idk what shiek will look like in brawl but ganon will get his twilight princess look like link.

hey ben! if you haven’t realised already this is a site owned by some guy who personally posts the stuff so you can chill out there (prevents crap from being repeated you know) and if you want to know when it first started, take the links all the way back to the beginning… not that hard to figure out.

Well….I found out that the person that is making the new smash bros made also a website I found, which is cool, and I found that there is a background of Animal Crossing, Its on

As for the whole Shiek being in the game, I think they were pretty much forced do, seeing as how popular s/he was in the previous one. Gannondorf was easy to predict, and I’m thinking they might make his final smash move similar to Bowser’s (Bowser turns into Giga Bowser), where he will temporarily turn into Gannon.
