Mario Kart Wii In Europe This Year?
Sources say that the Wii version of Mario Kart - which is said to be revealed at E3 - will be out this year in Europe…
One of our trusted sources has given us some news about the Wii version of Mario Kart.
The game will be shown at this year’s E3, which is something that everything expects anyway. What’s more is that it will be release this year in Europe. Specific details on the game are still unknown - just the planned release date and the fact that it exists is known - but we will find all that out next week anyway.
Mario Kart for the Wii will be a “replacement” for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Europe, which will sadly miss Europe this year, and it will be out early 2008 instead. However, this also means that the US will not see Mario Kart until early 2008, and they will be getting Smash Bros. Brawl in 2007. This means that Nintendo fans in both Europe and the US will have something to moan about (they’ll have something to be glad about, too….but there will probably be more moaning).
Also note that at the beginning of June Patrick Nagel, Deputy Marketing Manager for Nintendo Germany, stated that Europe will see Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Kart in 2007. We have reason to believe that he really was speaking the truth then.
As we have already said, we trust this source, but have put this up as rumour rather than news because we have no official way to back it up. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Gamestop has recently added a listing for a Wii title under the name of Pilotwings scheduled for release this December.

A new Rumor states that there is an exclusive Medal of Honor title in the development for the Nintendo Wii.
Medal of Honor: Airborn was scheduled to be on the Wii a few months back, but now all has gone quiet. As far as we know there are no plans to bring that game to the Wii. It would make sense that this game was scrapped for an exclusive MoH on Wii. This rumor is said to come from Patrick Gilmore, a producer at EA. Hopefully this rumor comes true…MoH: Vanguard left a very sour taste in our mouths.

There is a listing for an unannounced Wii game called Carnival Games over at Gamefly.
The publisher of Carnival Games for Wii is Globalstar Software, a budget publishing arm of Take Two Interactive, which suggests Carnival Games for Nintendo Wii might be a released at a discount price.

An excerpt from a Gamasutra interview with Andrew Pedersen, vice president of Electronic Arts’ Pogo.com:
GS: There’s an increasing popularity in alternate distribution channels on consoles, such as through Xbox Live, the PlayStation 3’s online service, and the Wii’s Shop Channel. Have you considered having a Pogo channel on these consoles and services?
AP: It’s something that we look at very carefully. We have a philosophy that we want to have Pogo present everywhere casual games are sold. We’re making concerted effort to put Pogo in places where we believe it can be successful and resonate. We’re not going to overinvest, and we’re not going to be in a position where we’re going to invest millions of dollars into something that is unproven. We’re going to take a calculated approach.
