This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii game MySims by GameDaily
It’s just too bad MySims doesn’t have online gameplay. Without a full-flowing online universe, it just feels like something’s missing.
In all, this take on the long-running Sims series shows both progress and limitations, but still ends up being fun. Maybe with the sequel, we can see some expansion to get it where it really needs to go. For now, though, MySims still earns a recommendation as a rental. Just be careful, though — it’s got enough sugary substance to give you a mouthful of cavities.

The technical deficiencies of Escape from Bug Island simply highlight the fact that games have evolved since survival horror first turned fashionable. There’s really no place for something this clunky. Rather than Escape from Bug Island, why not avoid it altogether?

You’ll either love or hate this one, kind of like Animal Crossing. If you don’t need lofty goals or lots of action in your games then this might be an option but if any of the videos shown above put you to sleep you should steer clear.

This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii game Alien Syndrome by 1up
Of course, many action-RPGs are only as good as their multiplayer, and Alien Syndrome’s co-op (up to four players) is as insipid as the rest of the experience. The “shooting things” half of the game is fine with a few friends, if not a bit busy, but the “wandering around for a key card/computer terminal” half is even more tedious with company. It’s a big game, and it could potentially last quite a while if a few friends really got into it, but that’s the only way you’re going to get close to your $50 worth. For what you’re getting and how low budget the game appears, it’s unthinkable to consider it otherwise for any more than a $20 price point.

From Fire Emblem, Ike appears! The fact that he can wield a two-handed sword with a single hand is a testament to his magnificent strength.
He brings his special move “Aether” with him as he crashes the Brawl party. Try for a single-stroke finishing blow with his mighty blade! (more…)

Final Score - 6
Driver has come a long way since its release on the PSOne in 1999, and whilst some of the game mechanics could certainly please a number of people – it is hard to forget that the Wii is just being used here as a port machine. If you’re looking for high octane racing thrills, you might want to check out some of the other games in the Wii’s growing library, and if you’re determined to have a go at some good ol’ Remote-ified Driver-ing anyway, this is probably only worth a rental.

A couple of moments do feel inspired when compared to the rest of the wreckage. Traversing crevice-spanning logs requires you to keep balance by twisting the Wii-mote to remain aligned with a finicky meter. Also, not to spoil the closest thing to a puzzle, but logs again come into play in a mildly clever way (again, that’s all relative to the rest of game). Unfortunately, you’ll probably play these sections, as well as the countless bad ones, far too often thanks to the shoddy save system (you can save only after completing a level or at the sparse save lamps). Likewise, a several-seconds load between the pause screen and inventory and equipment access is just long enough to make the simple act of switching to a gun or eating a health-replenishing mushroom a chore.
Bug Island fails and frustrates so thoroughly throughout its 10-plus-hour playtime that its greatest feat may be fooling someone into finishing it who isn’t paid to do so. It’s easily the Wii’s worst showing yet.

This is an excerpt from the Review of the Nintendo Wii game Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix by Gonintendo
Overall, The Order of The Phoenix is bloody brilliant, as Ron might say. Even after you’ve completed your main tasks, there are still plenty of mini-games and secret unlockable items located all over Hogwarts to keep you entertained. The more you discover around Hogwarts the more fun tidbits appear in a secret room located behind a rather cheeky portrait. These tidbits include cinematic clips detailing the making of the movie and interviews with the actors. You could spend hours in this room alone, mulling over an array of these deleted scene type features.
If it were up to me, Potter would pass his OWL examinations with flying colors. I give The Order of the Phoenix a respectable 7.5 for blissful wand waving and a breathtaking gaming backdrop. Now get to playing before I send you to a painful detention with that filthy git Umbridge!
