Official press release: Opera announced that Opera partners with Nintendo to put browser on the Wii™ game console

Oslo, Norway and Los Angeles, Calif., May 10, 2006

Opera Software, a world leader in Web browser technology, today announced that Nintendo’s much anticipated new generation game console, Wii, will use the Opera browser.

Users of the Wii console will browse the Internet using their consoles. Navigating via the innovative new Wii Remote controller, users can visit Web sites in between gaming sessions.

Opera and Nintendo announced their partnership to deliver the full Opera browser for the Nintendo DS on February 15, 2006. The Nintendo DS browser is scheduled for release in Japan this summer. Nintendo has not yet announced its global launch plans for this product.

Nintendo is planning to showcase a Nintendo Wii sequel to its classic shooter series Duck Hunt at its E3 2006 booth on Wednesday. The title will be playable. No other details about the project have yet been revealed, but we will of course serve up a full hands-on impressions when the time is right.

Duck Hunt arms players with a virtual shotgun and lets them blast away at a series of flying ducks. Given the precision aiming needed in the classic title, which worked with a light gun, it is all but certain that the Wii-mote wil act as the weapon this time around.

In a previous post we presented a Duck hunt minigame featuring a Wii controller as the shotgun, well now it will be true at E3 conference today

Wii Connect 24
Nintendo announced its new console (Nintendo Wii) will be connected to the internet 24 hours a day.

At its press conference today, Iwata explained Nintendo plans to deliver content to the system even when it’s not powered on. For instance, while you’re snug in your bed, friends can deliver new items to you for Animal Crossing for example.

During the Nintendo E3 conference Nintendo announced two versions of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Twilight Princess, will be aviable at lauunch with 2 versions 1 for Nintendo Wii, and another for Nintendo Game cube

The wii Version will use the capabilites of the Wii-Motion controller.

LucasArts has announced it’s E3 software lineup.No game for the nintendo Wii is Announced in the list but we think that nintendo wants to keep it secret until his conference.

This is the announced line up:
